Blog Reveal

Blogging originally was released in 1999 originally used for a person to be able to keep a personal diary to either keep to themselves or share with friends and family. People eventually realized that this tool, the way it organizes information, could be a very powerful tool for news and journalism.

"Mass communications is the transmission of information to large numbers of people through the mass media. Mass media includes newspapers, magazines, television, radio, film, websites, and any technology that allows for the dissemination of information to the public."

The internet can give people a voice that didn’t or wouldn’t have one otherwise. It can give them a place to speak their mind, have an opinion, and connect to people around the world that they wouldn’t of ever met anyway. That is what your first amendment right to freedom of speech is all about right?

The internet and blogging can also be a powerful tool for people to rally together for a cause to change for the better. It can be an easy way to organize and advance social movements and political mobilizations.

Below is what I enjoyed, struggled with the most, and advice I would have for newcomers to the course.

I liked your detailed diagrams that you explained in-depth on the board. Your enthusiasm and positive attitude in the classroom, making the information more fun, and the candy bucket you brought to class. Also, the real life examples that you tied in to the daily lessons.

Things I struggled with most were waking up at a much earlier time than i’m used to and forcing myself to go to be early. Some nights I just did all-nighters because that was easier for me. Also, the quizzes, having to memorize so many different things.

Advice I would have for newcomers to the course would be to pay attention, obviously.

Take very detailed notes, either write down exactly or take pics of the diagrams he makes on the board. Also, to sit near the front and ask questions.
