The Internet has been around for 25+ years now and the impact it has had on how people talk with each other is incredible. About 3/10 of the population is online today. While a popular opinion is that the internet has caused people to be more anti-social, a sociologist, Barry Wellman, claims it has had the opposite effect. Many people have been able to make friends with others half-way across the world that they would of probably never met otherwise. Also, on the topic of online dating, a popular site called "Match.com" has helped over 33% of couples meet and that percentage is expected to skyrocket to 70% by the year 2040.
